Every December, our church participates with other Lovettsville area worship communities to host a meal packaging event in support of Rise Against Hunger! The meals we package are delivered to impoverished areas of the world to help feed those with minimal resources. Often, the meals are delivered to school meal programs in places like Haiti. The meal program is a powerful encouragement for children to attend school as the meal they receive may be their only meal of the day. Rather than send children to beg in the streets, parents prefer to send their kids to school for the education and the guarantee of a hot meal. Please consider joining us for this event to give something back to those in need. Even if it is just a few hours of your time, you will likely find this the best gift you give yourself during the Advent season. We hope to see you at our meal packaging event in the future. For more information, visit the Rise Against Hunger! web site.
If you choose to join us, here are some helpful hints about what to expect.
Meal packaging usually lasts about 4-5 hours and sometimes longer if you choose to help with setup or cleanup.
